Come to the land of enchantment! The Village of Ruidoso is located approximately 7000 feet above sea level in the Sacramento Mountains in Southern New Mexico in the shadow of Sierra Blanca whose highest point is just shy of 12,000 feet. Ruidoso is in Lincoln County location of the famous Lincoln County War notable for Billy the Kid and Sheriffs William J Brady and Pat Garrett.
The climate here is mild with temperatures in the 80’s & cooling to the 50’s every evening and sometimes a little lower. Ruidoso is a resort town and has many attractions for all ages and interests along with all the surrounding area. Weather often includes a little afternoon or evening shower, but they usually don’t last too long and just cool everything off. Wildlife in the area includes elk, black bear, turkey, and plenty of mule deer everywhere. The Chamber of Commerce Website offers information for visitors here: http://www.ruidosonow.com/visitor.aspx
Tentative agenda:
Thursday evening – our first dinner will be at 6PM at Hotel Ruidoso, we will have it catered for ease of everyone who is arriving and we will keep prices under $10 per adult and less for children.
Friday – dinner/show at the Flying J Ranch *see info below
Saturday – enjoy your day and we will have a cook out at Casey’s Cabins at 6 PM
Sunday – another beautiful day in the mountains with dinner at 6 back at Hotel Ruidoso
For those who are staying over through Monday we will not plan a large meal time, but can make plans for those who are still here.
*Please email me and let me know if you have special dietary restrictions
We are here all summer and you are more than welcome to extend your stay before or after!
Getting Here:
For flying we recommend flying into Albuquerque or El Paso and renting a car for the last part. You can fly into Roswell and rent a car, which is only 60 miles from Ruidoso, but it is a smaller airport so you will probably pay more.
