2011 Reunion in Lake Tahoe, California

Warm memories of the 2009 reunion remain, as we look forward to planning the 2011 reunion in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Susanna Wahl (susanna_wahl@yahoo.com) will be coordinating this reunion.

Please join the Facebook group page for the Mangney/Mangni reunions -- this is where family members can join and share pictures or messages. Please contact Alison Barton (alison@lonestarbartons.com) or me (ginnygunville@yahoo.com) to join the group. There are already some pictures from the 2009 reunion in Minnesota. Of course, we will also keep in touch by email, or regular mail, to let you know about reunion plans as they develop.

We hope you will start thinking about joining us for the next reunion, whether or not you have come to this last reunion. Come to enjoy each others' company and share roots in the same family. It's fun to get to know cousins, second-cousins, and more distant relatives, along with the children!

We're looking forward to seeing all of you in Minnesota next week! It's a beautiful 82 degrees today. It's supposed to cool down in the next few days, but I'm hoping for a beautiful week while you are here!

I want to give you some information about dinners. We're planning to cater dinners from a budget of $10 per adult, $5 children between 3-12. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requests or restrictions.

Thursday night, July 23rd, we are serving dinner at Whitefish Lodge, in the area where they serve breakfasts. We will plan dinner for 6 pm. The address is 14150 Swann Dr, Crosslake, MN.

Friday night, July 24th, we are serving dinner at Daggett Brook Villas - Villa 201. Dinner will be at 6 pm. The address is36639 Cty Rd 66, Crosslake, MN.

Saturday and Sunday, July 25th - 26th, we are serving dinner at Sundance Ridge Condos - Unit 835. Dinner will be at 6 pm. The address is 36951 County Road 66, Crosslake, MN. We will also be there on Monday, if anyone is still around.

There are many recreational options - we will bring kayaks. There are boat rentals available. There are several golf courses in the area. Shopping opportunities are available in the cute little towns in the area. We can help plan day trips.

Bring folding chairs, if it is convenient.

Looking forward to seeing everyone, and safe travels!

Second Chance to Book at Whitefish Lodge

We understand that some more rooms will be coming available on June 24th for our reunion dates, July 23-26th, at Whitefish Lodge. Another party reserved a large block of rooms and won't be needing all of them. If this was  your first choice, but you were unable to book rooms at the hotel, you might check back with them then.

Dinner Plans ~~

Thursday night, July 23rd, the dinner plan will be to grill outside at Whitefish Lodge. This will give everyone a chance to get together and socialize. If you have folding camp chairs, they will be useful all four days. We'll bring 4 chairs. The hotel has two grills and two picnic tables.

Friday night the Gunvilles plan to host dinner at our condo at Daggett Brook Villas,  close to Whitefish Lodge. There will be a dock to park a boat. People can come there to socialize during the day. The condo is on the water.

We're tentatively planning a ham dinner, (with vegetarian options). We want something that is easy and doesn't require a lot of kitchen time.

Saturday and Sunday nights the Gunvilles will host dinner at our condo at Sundance Ridge. Again, we will have water access for activities during the day.

Saturday night we're tentatively planning hamburger hotdish, salads, etc.

Sunday night, potluck and leftovers.

Monday night, the Gunvilles will be staying over at Sundance Ridge, due to a 3 day reservation policy.  So if anyone else is around then we'd love to get together.

Boats ~~

We have the option of renting a pontoon boat, accomodates 14, through Whitefish Lodge. It is $200 a day (plus  gas for the boat). We would have to have commitments from at least ten people to rent the boat.

There are other boat and watercraft rental options in town.

There are numerous golf courses in the area, as well.

Please comment below if you are interested in going in on a boat rental. Or, if you have anything else to say!

Mary G:
"I am Mary G, Norma Nachtsheim's daughter and Emma Magni Johnson's grandaughter We plan to come to Brainerd one night but would like to know if anything special is being planned for a given day as we would then base our chioice of times to come on that info Are you aware of any planned group activities Please let me know."

Kim S:
"It will be only me attending the reunion this year. I am going to be sharing a room with my Mom (Carol) and Armen. I am not arriving until Friday - flying into Minneapolis around noon and driving north. I have a flight back on Sunday afternoon, so I will have to leave probably before noon.."

Jack R and Donna R:
(Jack staying at Roadway Inn, Donna at Whitefish Lodge)
"I have reservations at the Roadway Inn in Pine River MN. Donna and I have reserved a rental car for the 23 - 26 of July and I believe she plans to stay at the Whitefish Lodge with you all.

I have found a way to travel to Minneapolis from Cincinnati, round trip, for between $6.00 and $15.00 It is through a company with a website at
www.megabus.com. They serve most of the Midwest, Northeast, and Ontario. If anyone is interested in more information, my email is jfs9701@mail.com."

Bob and Marilyn C:
(Staying at Whitefish Lodge)
"We've made a reservation. We would like to stop in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area, Tulsa, and then a couple of stops in Iowa before we get to Minnesota. So, driving seems the easiest way to go."

John and Julie M:
(Staying at Breezy Point Campground)
"We wanted to let you know that we are planning to join you on Thursday, July 23rd. We will arrive at Highview Campground and RV Park in Breezy Point, about 5 miles from where you will be staying, shortly after noon."

Peg and Tim M:
"This gathering sounds like a great time. That area is just a reasonable drive from our place, so we plan to bring our boat over and have some lake fun with everyone.

My guess is we'll only able to make it for the first two days. Saturdays are difficult to get away.

We do have openings in our little cabins before and after in anyone wants to stay a couple days longer on either side."

Jeanne Anne C and John K:
(Staying at Whitefish Lodge)

My brother has offered to let us stay with them in their motor home on the night of the 25th and we will probably take them up on it. We will leave on the 26th to spend the night with a sorority sister of mine who lives in St Cloud; so we will not be at the dinner on the 26th. We will be at the dinners on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Hopefully the time share is not too far from Crosslake where the reunion is being held. We are bringing our golf clubs and hope to play unless the mosquitoes and humidity get too much for us.."
